Dr. Christopher O’TooleDoctor of Veterinary Medicine

Growing up in North Bay with 3 dogs, 4 cats and numerous horses helped Chris realize his affinity for animals. Summers spent at the farm of the regional veterinarian for Northern Ontario exposed Chris to caring for animals and how people can ease their pain when they are sick, instilling a passion for veterinary medicine at an early age.

In 1999, he graduated from the University of Toronto with an HBSc in Zoology and Physiology. He then completed his Veterinary degree at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004. After spending the early years of his career honing his skills at a fast paced downtown Toronto practice, he decided to open his own hospital in Bloor West Village in 2009. At the Bloor West Village Animal Hospital, Chris focuses on leading a team dedicated to easing the suffering of their patients, easing the anxiety of the clients and on constantly learning in order to improve their skills. Animals have given him so much in his life and he is honoured to be able to help them in return.

Chris has lived in Toronto’s West End for over 15 years with his beautiful wife, his wheaten terrier poodle cross Guinness, and has three children: twins, Griffin & Zoey, and a younger daughter, Harper. His professional interests include surgery, internal medicine and dentistry. He also readily combines alternative medicines into his practice. Outside of work, Chris is an avid tennis player and a 3rd degree blackbelt in tae kwon do. He also enjoys reading and spending time with his family. He is happy to have the opportunity to care for the companion animals of Toronto’s West End.
